4 days left to get ready for our trip to AZ!!! We are so excited! Kind of nervous about the road trip with an 8 and a half year old BUT I'm sure he will be fine :) We have lots of things for him to do in the car... and hopefully he sleeps for a good chunk of the trip! So much to do while we are there... so many people to see! Hopefully there is enough time for it all! We have lots of "plans" but only one day is definitely planned... a day with my mom :) We plan on going to the zoo with my best friend and her kiddos, maybe a spring training game with my brothers, and visiting family and friends. It will be a very full week, but a very fun week! I miss my friends and family so much... it will be good to go back home and see everyone!
So Koleton is being stubborn about crawling (I wonder who he gets that from lol) so we have moved on to standing on his own. I found a play table at Goodwill for $4 a little while ago... it just needed some cleaning and it works great :) Saved us like $40!!! Anyhow, yesterday I stood him up at it and he kept leaning his butt back to make sure I was there. And turning around grabbing me, just to make sure he wouldn't fall. Today he stood there, balancing and catching himself when he would start to fall :) He just caught on so fast! I couldn't believe how great he was doing! We've also started "walking" him ;) I hold his hands and his little feet just move! He "walks" everywhere... especially to go see daddy. He may just skip crawling all together... but if he wants to get somewhere, he can :) Mostly he looks at me like "ummm mama? A little help here?" lol He would rather I carry him to where he wants to go than crawl lol He will be up on his hands and knees and if he catches sight of me, he drops to his tummy and his legs and arms start going. I've said it before, but he is a little stinker! I couldn't love him more though!

VeggieTales and Bolt
Koleton's 2 favorite shows! Ok so he doesn't really watch VeggieTales YET but as soon as the tuba starts "BUM bum BUM bum BUM bum"ing he stops what he's doing and turns to the tv haha It is so darn cute! He just stares at the TV, completely mesmerized by that song! I found a video on YouTube of it on my phone and played it for him in the car as well :) We were at Sam's last night and that dang store kept shocking the heck out of me! I went to give Koleton one of his cheetos and shocked the heck out of him! :( He started crying... like screaming crying! Poor kid! I got right up to his ear (after the initial "owie" shock wore off) and started "BUM bum BUM bum"ing and singing that song and he stopped crying :) Well for a few, then he remembered he got hurt and was crying all over again :(
When we were having trouble getting Koleton to sleep in his bed at night, I tried to find the perfect amount of light in his room so he would sleep. The closet light on with the door at varying levels of openness never worked right. Then I thought... hmmmm he is used to sleeping with me on the couch with the tv on! So why not put a tv in his room and run a dvd so he has the sound and the light! Genius! haha Well anyhow, he now sleeps with the tv on (movie playing or not) and it seems to be the perfect sleep lighting for him. Not only that, but he will lay in his crib, pull the crib bumper down with one hand, and watch Bolt! I'm sure he watches it before he falls asleep for the night and when he wakes up now it's like he says "ok, mama, I'm awake!" and then goes to watching his movie lol He is so quiet in there I have to go check to see if I heard him or not... 99% of the time there he is, hand pulling down the bumper, head barely peeking over enough to see the movie :) Then when I pick him up he tries to look around me to see it! Like I'm disturbing his movie time lol He is such a goofy kid! He doesn't sit and watch tv any other time like that. Only in his bed before or after sleeping :)
Crawling update!!!!!
Ok so he's not officially crawling yet haha But tonight was the closest he's been! (I know I know, I say that every time lol) Obviously he keeps improving on his crawling but now he can just get up on his hands and knees no problem (before it was elbows and knees). He also can go from sitting to hands and knees. Maybe nothing I am "offering" as crawling incentive is "good enough" for him to ACTUALLY crawl lol Tonight he went for the flashing light on my pc... a few times! I had to pick him up and move him back so he wouldn't unplug anything. His little legs were doing the crawling motion so hopefully soon! I'm hoping he is crawling before we get to AZ! So he can show everyone his new skills :)
8 Months old already!!! Geez how time flies! Brad and I see new babies on TV and both say "awwww! Remember when Koleton was that little!" No, it's not quite time for baby2! lol We are enjoying our time with the perfect angel we have now :) While I am enjoying watching him learn and grow and trying to savor every moment... I still can't wait to see the person he will become. I can't wait for him to crawl, walk, talk, play catch with his Daddy, read, etc! I CAN wait for the attitude, talking back, not listening, groundings, etc haha All in time!

The Bird
No, not bird the animal, bird the middle finger! haha It is Koleton's finger of choice! His index finger works just fine, but he picks things up with his middle finger and thumb to put in his mouth. Or he will just sit with his hand closed, but his middle finger out, "flipping off" the world! lol The other night I was feeding him and he took his hand, middle finger out, and turned it toward me, like in slow motion! It was like he was literally flipping me off lol Little stinker haha
I went to the doctor the other day to get a check up, and to check my blood pressure. Koleton was so good (of course) he just sat in his stroller and chilled... even though it was way past naptime. The doctor told me as we were leaving "if you ever want to just give him away... I'll take him!" lol I told her, no way! He is like the perfect baby... happy 95% of the time, sleeps through the night, puts himself to sleep, eats well and feeds himself, etc etc lol No way am I giving him away! :P
I think his top side tooth is coming in... I can see a little nub looking like it is coming through :) He is going to look like a goofy little vampire with his 2 bottom teeth and his top teeth to the side of the middle teeth! lol If they do break through before his top middle teeth I will for sure take pictures and put them on here! My sweet little soon to be vampire boy lol

His new favorite thing to do is take the letters out of his foam floor mat, or the edges off his Cars floor mat and chew on them! I tell him "No, Koleton!" and he just looks at me and smiles, and goes back to chewing on them lol
